Celebration was established in 1994 by The Walt Disney Company. David Pace joined the project in March of 1993 and led multiple segments of The Celebration Company until 2000.

Celebration was conceived as a small southern town that followed the patterns of early American legendary communities like Charleston and Beaufort, South Carolina, and Savannah, Georgia. It was among the first large-scale traditional neighborhood developments that produced both high volume and high style. Celebration reintroduced and popularized the concept of the pattern book to guide the hands of builders, architects, and property owners.

With more than a decade now as a case study, Celebration clearly demonstrates both the functional and aesthetic advantages of mixed-use, traditionally inspired communities. The project has aged gracefully and is unquestionably a financial success for its stakeholders.

Celebration by the numbers:
Celebration is a 5,000 acre project in Osceola County, Florida, with 8,000 residential units, 5M sq. ft. of commercial, 1,500 hotel rooms and 200,000 sq. ft. of hospital entitlements. The build out value is over $4B.
